dear milan pastry makers

These teeth to be chewed by teeth - they induce slightly cannibalistic thoughts. Is there such a thing as cannibalism light? In marzipan?

Thoughts they don't induce: eagerness to eat or buy.

dear son

Sometimes you say stuff that seems to come straight out of your dad's mouth.
Like the other day, when you said

"Mom, know what the scariest thing in the world is? Old dolls!"

Is it genetic or a deeply felt feeling males share?

Shoes I wanted to buy in Milan

Too expensive.

Too steep.

dear people who love shoes

I left for four days in Milan with the man I love and packed a few pretty dresses and dreams of going to fancy places but already at the airport I realized these were the only shoes I'd brought. Seems I don't think too much about shoes, but the irony is that if you think so little about shoes as to travel with only the shoes you wear, then you're forced to think about shoes a lot once you arrive at your destination.

Dear son

This morning, you were so angry. SO ANGRY. Everything was wrong and you hated daycare, didn't want to go there and WTF so much snow and you hate winter gear and why are there nightmares and bad stuff and tears were cascading down your soft wonderful silky peachy white cheeks.

Turned out you were really upset about the fact that your parents were leaving you for 4 days, an infinite measure of time to your 5-year old mind. "How can you go away for SOOOO LOOONG?" you asked and I said "We'll be back before you know it".

Then, walking you to daycare, you asked "When have I lived as long as the dinosaurs? When I'm grown up?" I tried to explain the hundreds of million years concept and you replied "So when I'm a teen?".

To you, 4 days probably seems like a few million years too. I still promise to be back before you know it.
-your mother, old as a dino.

LOVING EVERYTHING IN YOUR SHOP. When I see these beard caps, my one thought is: I LOVE MEN!

Dear Chanel

Please give your frames some anti-reflection treatment before sending them off to stores. You have to consider all of us who've given up mirrors at the same time we threw out our old phones (you know - the ones that had CHORDS). We, the nearsighted who use photo booth as mirrors need to see what the frames look like, not frames with our own ridiculous computer screen reflections blocking the view. That would be all, thanks for listening.

Mer Vanja!

Dear Vanja my love

Congrats on your 9th birthday. Will post a pic from today later on, this is the you I have with me in the office. SO HAPPY to be your mom.

Dear Kiehl's

Dear Kiehl's,
I've been on your team. I've bought my share of CdC. I've rooted for you. I've loved your olive oil hair treaments. But your hair other hair products...we're no impressed. Dizzy from my great past experiences wih your great products, I shelled out lots of money to buy your promising Rice & wheat volumizing shampoo. The family is halfways through the bottle and we're quitting already. This is not like us. We're not picky, we don't throw stuff away like this. But your stuff made our hair weird! Now we've replaced your bottle with cheaper stuff and our hair is happy again.

You're a brand who seem to care about the environment. Wha should we do with these half empty bottles? And why are the rice and wheat products so disappointing? I bought the shampoo because it said on the bottle that it's intended for "flat, thin or lifeless hair". I can check every box there, so who are you really trying to help if this doesn't work for me?

I know other people so disappointed in this product they give it away for free! That's how I got the conditioner. But being an optimist I thought it still might work on me. It did not.

Sad, still flat, thin & lifeless greetings from
-the end consumer

Dear winter - how to know you're here II

Freezing the car doors shut was so much more subtle than this ice cold wind-in-your-face bullshit you pulled today.

Dear Apple - this is how much we love you

This is my friend and colleague Gerda. Do you see her ear? Isn't that the most beautiful Apple-lovers' token of appreciation you've ever seen? Her brother in law, Dan Lindholm, makes them by removing the actual logotype from old computers! I know you want these earrings too, but now that you know how they're made you can understand how exclusive they are!

Close up!

Dear Beautybox, St Paulsgatan 24

Dear Maite and Lovisa, I promised to make it easier to google your Beautybox nailsalon at St Paulsgatan 24.

Thank you for making my hands so pretty they look like they belong to someone else!

Here's Modesty Blaise look-alike Maite. She turned my weird thumb nail into something that looks like a polished persons nail. Thank you Mayte!

Dear Winter - how to know you're here

I noticed that as of today, on Nov 8th, you're here to stay. I know this, because this morning I noticed I'd left my make-up bag in the car. But then when I went to get it, I couldn't even open the car doors, they were stuck frozen.

Dear Halloween - and dear Shays

Thanks for hosting such a fantastic Halloween-party. The kids are still talking about it!

Vanja , a pirate next to Emily the cat.
Hungry? Have some fingers or spiders!
Halloween party rookie ruler Niki.

Dear Skogskyrkogården

You were so beautiful the other day.

Dear Mrs Bildt

There's something about this picture, I can't stop looking at it. It should be such a relaxing moment, yet you don't look comfortable at all. To me this picture shows the discrepancy between the dreams we all have about a perfect life and the reality of that life once it's all in place.

Dear future generations

Dear future generations of the world, I am so jealous that you might have access to scientific solutions that will let you copy paste versions of your children at every stage. I love my kids to the verge of explosion like most parents so to imagine the thought of having little version left of the baby, the 1-year old, the 2-year old that once was! It's too much! I'd be out of control, copy pasting left and right, as unable to stop at a reasonable number as Octomom.

dear people who have feet & love shoes

Do you share my sad equation?
Ps. No I don't use those socks anymore.

Dear Naomi Wolf

I read your piece on female rivalry in Harper's Bazaar where you wrote about how "there are so few treatments onscreen of major female rivalry (direct rivalry rather than a love triangle). Indeed, I could think of only one since The Women in 1939: Single White Female."

Here's a little help in finding other movies: Heathers, All about Eve, Mean Girls, The Devil wears Prada, The hand that rocks the cradle, In her shoes and any movie starring Barbie, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Snow White would work too, but I think it was made before The Women, so won't hold that against you.

Ps. Isn't there a love triangle in SWF?
Ps 2. I'm sure people here can come up with even more titles.

Dear fashion oriented people

Leopard is in again (has it ever been out?). This is how I plan to wear it this fall.

Dear French Connection

I beg to differ.

Dear Tampax/ Americans

Scented, pearly tampons? Seems you have a more romantic take on tampons than the rest of us.

Back from NYC - trip highlights

The city that never, ever lets you down. Trip highlight pictured above: Sara & Malin.

Trip highlights not pictured: Seeing Petter, Morris, Lee, Dina, Michelle, Jenny & Alexei, Rebecca, Amy, Cynthia, Craig, Emil, Mimi, Astrid and Ezra & Odessa (sleeping).

Most regretful: Missing out on seeing Josh, Gill and baby Charlie. MY MISTAKE!

Dear readers

I'm just trying how this works. I might sell stuff here later on.
