I love this painting.

Painted in 1964, it reminds me so much of Anders. I keep thinking it's him, though he's never fallen asleep while in charge of babies.

Trying to find an agent sometimes leads to other great finds

Looking for an agent is intimidating. But the feeds of the literary agencies are not.

The biggest divide in the US

Is not left or right, woman or man, rich or poor.
It's if you like or dislike Halloween, a question that cuts across gender, ethnicity, age, and class.

Out of all the year's holidays, it's my least favorite - for adults. Kids in costume - always pro that.

But all the gore-y decorations, the spider webs, skulls and skeletons, body parts, blood and yuck. It's just not for me. If you're thinking "what a boring priss" - that's exactly what I'm talking about  - nothing turns people against each other like the feelings regarding this holiday.

I loved my daycare

I love the Sharpie crew

I love love love this kind of scribbling. It's what I always look for when I go to museums etc. 

Traces of human life, making fun of whatever just because.

Materialistic wishes

1. More sweaters. I'd like to roam the streets all sparkly. 


2. Coats. 1 rainproof coat for walking across the bridge in heavy downpour like I did two days ago. I arrived happy but soaked and cold. A better coat would solve that. Any of you try this?


Also: Need a great regular coat. Here's one of the best coats I've had, sadly I wore it to pieces.

Also LOVE my red coat that I appropriated from my mamacita. Wore it to my wedding. Oh how handsome is Anders here?

3. Boots. Eternal quest, like coat quest. 

4. Pants. These are topping my wishlish. I have them in the shorter version, live in them. Best pants ever. Try for yourself. 

And a blouse or two. Then I'm set. Really set.

Counterproductive advertising

I have a big problem with this ad. I find it xenophobic and islamophobic. Carrie Mathis like innocent little red riding hood in a sea of faceless,niqab wearing women. This ad makes me so not want to watch the series.

Anders and I went to Boston, more on that later. Cause know what happened in Boston? I met Jennifer, a longtime reader of this blog.

I use blogging as some kind of creative outlet, to practice my English, share pics and experiences and just vent. The unforeseen reward of all that is meeting people like Jennifer. She's smart, insightful, emphatic and funny and though we met for the first time ever, I felt I knew her from somewhere.

I have the best readers ever.
