a day with the end consumer

come into my world!
ok, I've missed out on sharing morning and breakfast with kids and anders, but you know I went running and now: prepping. for what?

For going to Fotografiska where I met a hair twin

Then had a long meeting with great minds:
Before taking the elevator down (also a forgotten closet day - putting on an entire suit I rarely wear)

To l'heure bleue outside:

Then back home to pick up kids, cook, clean like always but also! Opening the first day of the Advent Calendar. SPOILER ALERT if you haven't done this yet.

Tomorrow - more mistakes.

Tomorrow I will share/show a mistake I keep repeating year after year after year.
I keep buying ladylike blouses, hoping that they will somehow transform me into a lady. In the fitting room, I say to myself "this will look great in a publicity still". You can laugh now, I am! Publicity still for WHAT?!?!

But when the occasion arrives, which it might, one day, I will be prepared with ladylike blouses amassed over 20 years.

I'll show you one of them tomorrow. Then, in a way, they WILL HAVE SERVED THE INTENDED PURPOSE.

Blogging. It's really about turning your life exactly the way it should be.

Forgotten closet

Today, living cheap, wearing blouse I got for free and then I'll be eating a free lunch from Panini while I work. Then Pilates at Forgrenska where I have a year pass and then subway to bus home. I asked myself earlier today: What look would you like to achieve today? The answer came loud and clear: 70's playboy model. Above you can see my failed attempt at looking retro foxy. At first I thought I should take a better pic but then reasoned that you, reader, deserve the truth. Also, I bet some 70's playboy models had that high dazed look in their eyes too, though perhaps not at 11 am at the office like me.

do you do this don't?

It's been a rough spring of sadness and loss. We couldn't escape even if we wanted to. What little escape there's been has been in the shape of running for Anders and browsing Etsy for me. So many hours browsing Etsy. When everyone else is sleeping - Etsy. I rarely buy anything, I just browse and it clears my mind for a while.

But when morning comes, I don't even want to dress elegantly. I want to dress comfortably and without expense. Like today, in clothes swap-shirt and a velour sweater I bought before Joel (6 on Sat) was born.
Every time I wear these favorites, I think about this picture from the sartorialist. Must get hat and rope belt.

Fashion

Acne Hex Straight-Leg Jeans in Lena Wash
I recently returned two pairs of the only kind of jeans I buy (Acne Hep in Lena wash as seen above).
I hate wearing jeans. I took the money and invested in Pilates with Elin instead.
If you know of any COMFORTABLE JEANS please let me know.
I want the feeling of jeans I remember from my teens.
Does that mean I have to go back to levi's? or should one just skip jeans altogether?

Forgotten closet day 2

OK, so the skirt is kind of new and I'd definitely not forgotten about the necklace Vanja made me for my birthday or the ear rings I bought from Lena, but the rest? FORGOTTEN!

This look is a split personality.
Above waist: Edwardian Lady goes for a walk.
Below waist: College student.

Forgotten closet part 1

Today:Ancient Bikkemberger boots, bought because they're similar to something my style icon Judd Nelson wore in the opening scenes of Breakfast Club. Will wear them to client meeting with plaid dress and jean jacket. Will see how that goes.

Dear readers, a preview of this week's upcoming blog

This week, I'll make an effort to wear clothes I never wear. The reason? To make us all see if it's true that we don't need to buy new clothes, just use the ones we already have.I'll try to remember why I bought the clothes in the first place.

First out: A leopard jacket I bought at H&M about 4 or 5 years ago. It's like wearing a plush toy. The kids at daycare love it. I do too, I just never remember to wear it. Plus, it's a little demanding, it asks a certain confidence to wear it. It's not what you feel like wearing any given Monday morning. In return, it generates compliments.
Readers who've been with me for a while will remember it from Joel's baby days.
What's your weirdest purchase?
