Dear winter

Despite hating the cold and winter, Niki had a great moment here with her lunch and the man of her dreams, Stefan.

Dear Sherlock Holmes museum

Dear Sherlock Holmes museum, I'm fascinated by the fact that your Holmes & Watson Salt and Pepper set is said to be "much sought after by collectors".

Dear Calvin Klein

I know you make money off men's briefs, so how about this smoking hot man from the 1480s?

Dear fish

I admire the attitude you keep even after losing your head. Or is it rather your bodies you've lost?

That tree AGAIN

This morning.

Dear people behind "A history of the world"

I LOVE YOUR PROJECT!
Just listen to this.

Dear Julian Assange defense lawyer

Sure, you can come up with funny remarks such as

"Whatever 'sex by surprise' is, it's only a offense in Sweden -- not in the U.K. or the U.S. or even Ibiza," Stephens said. "I feel as if I'm in a surreal Swedish movie being threatened by bizarre trolls."

But we'll see what comes out of this whole deal.

Dear Nicole Richie/Winter Kate

At $795 this is too expensive for me and at my age it's probably too short too, but I LOVE THIS DRESS. I'd wear it to work, to the playground, to daycare, to picnics, ANYTHING to make me think it's a sensible purchase.

dear maker of hydration integrated baselayers

thanks for hydrating Anders during his 3 hour run yesterday. My question to you now is: can i invest in you in time for spring break? I see unlimited portable margarita-dancing potential here. sell it bundled with the stadium gal!please don't stop the music!

dear winter

Every morning is a struggle to dress these two in the insane amount of clothing stated in your secret brief to assure parental calm once they're left off at daycare. the kids look happy, at this stage i'm usually sweating, stressing and (not proud of it) screaming.

Life in a Northern town

We live like this.

Dear people of Milan

Am truly impressed by your aesthetic ways and sense of order. When it rains, you seem to think raincoats and wellies are beneath you. You dress elegantly, often in fur rimmed clothes and boots in perfect condition. Then you put a shield between you and the rain/snow - an umbrella. But when entering a museum, you dispose of your shield in this elegant fashion - putting it in an umbrella case, each compartment has it's own lock and key.
Naturally, you bring this sense of order to your favorite pasttime - eating. Your roasted chestnuts are sold in this practical double bag - perfect for discarding shells without having to blend with the remaining delicacies.
With respect and admiration

Dear fellow commuters

Yesterday, travelling by bus looked like this.
Today, like this. Both magical, cold and well, challenging.

On the good side, I met my mother at the bus stop. One of the benefits of living close to your parents - commuting turns into a family affair.

dear milan pastry makers

These teeth to be chewed by teeth - they induce slightly cannibalistic thoughts. Is there such a thing as cannibalism light? In marzipan?

Thoughts they don't induce: eagerness to eat or buy.

dear son

Sometimes you say stuff that seems to come straight out of your dad's mouth.
Like the other day, when you said

"Mom, know what the scariest thing in the world is? Old dolls!"

Is it genetic or a deeply felt feeling males share?

Shoes I wanted to buy in Milan

Too expensive.

Too steep.

dear people who love shoes

I left for four days in Milan with the man I love and packed a few pretty dresses and dreams of going to fancy places but already at the airport I realized these were the only shoes I'd brought. Seems I don't think too much about shoes, but the irony is that if you think so little about shoes as to travel with only the shoes you wear, then you're forced to think about shoes a lot once you arrive at your destination.

Dear son

This morning, you were so angry. SO ANGRY. Everything was wrong and you hated daycare, didn't want to go there and WTF so much snow and you hate winter gear and why are there nightmares and bad stuff and tears were cascading down your soft wonderful silky peachy white cheeks.

Turned out you were really upset about the fact that your parents were leaving you for 4 days, an infinite measure of time to your 5-year old mind. "How can you go away for SOOOO LOOONG?" you asked and I said "We'll be back before you know it".

Then, walking you to daycare, you asked "When have I lived as long as the dinosaurs? When I'm grown up?" I tried to explain the hundreds of million years concept and you replied "So when I'm a teen?".

To you, 4 days probably seems like a few million years too. I still promise to be back before you know it.
-your mother, old as a dino.

We've all done it

An average day for an almost 3-year old.

Same tree, different seasons

See that tree Joel is running towards?
He runs towards it in winter too. It's on our way to dagis.

More from Mjölk

LOVING EVERYTHING IN YOUR SHOP. When I see these beard caps, my one thought is: I LOVE MEN!

Tänker också: Äntligen kan vi alla se lite mer ut som Jörgen Bang!

Hurra! Snart är den här!

Finbesök

Otroligt fint besök på kontoret idag! Anna med helt ofattbart gulliga dottern Essi.

Dear Chanel

Please give your frames some anti-reflection treatment before sending them off to stores. You have to consider all of us who've given up mirrors at the same time we threw out our old phones (you know - the ones that had CHORDS). We, the nearsighted who use photo booth as mirrors need to see what the frames look like, not frames with our own ridiculous computer screen reflections blocking the view. That would be all, thanks for listening.

Mer Vanja!

Jag vet att det finns barn som är lika fina, men det finns ingen som är finare!
tror det här var i första klass?
Sista året på dagis.

Baby Carmen Miranda

Se henne växa!

Av någon anledning bloggade jag inte 6 & 7-årsdagarna.

Dear Vanja my love

Congrats on your 9th birthday. Will post a pic from today later on, this is the you I have with me in the office. SO HAPPY to be your mom.

Älskar dig tjejen. Skriver det här så du kanske läser det om några år, det kommer alltid att stämma.

Dear Kiehl's

Dear Kiehl's,
I've been on your team. I've bought my share of CdC. I've rooted for you. I've loved your olive oil hair treaments. But your hair other hair products...we're no impressed. Dizzy from my great past experiences wih your great products, I shelled out lots of money to buy your promising Rice & wheat volumizing shampoo. The family is halfways through the bottle and we're quitting already. This is not like us. We're not picky, we don't throw stuff away like this. But your stuff made our hair weird! Now we've replaced your bottle with cheaper stuff and our hair is happy again.

You're a brand who seem to care about the environment. Wha should we do with these half empty bottles? And why are the rice and wheat products so disappointing? I bought the shampoo because it said on the bottle that it's intended for "flat, thin or lifeless hair". I can check every box there, so who are you really trying to help if this doesn't work for me?

I know other people so disappointed in this product they give it away for free! That's how I got the conditioner. But being an optimist I thought it still might work on me. It did not.

Sad, still flat, thin & lifeless greetings from
-the end consumer
