Sometimes referred to as

Here she is, the lady sometimes referred to as the first Natalie Portman, Winona, LOOKING GREAT!
A cross between a small bird and a doe, a Parisian lady and countess, a little Audrey Hepburn, but mostly herself.
Congratulations on the BONE STRUCTURE & PRISTINE COLORING and for proving 40 is hawt.

Hey, haplorhini!

Did you know you're a haplorhini? A species of anthropoid primates characterized by our dry noses?

I suddenly feel a little more interesting and more primal.

How about you, haplorhini?

All day after finding out about our common haplorhiniage, I walked around singing Hey Haplorhini to a familiar tune. Took me ages to figure out hey haplorhini is not the original wording to Hey macarena.

There's no limit to my blogging!

Will be blogging over at https://www.wonderwall.se/blog/ too! Not sure for how long, but rush over there and add me to your fancy rss-readers or however you keep track of our times.

Dear MatHem shopping from home-service

Dear MatHem,
I would like you to know that although I ordered (and duly received)

6 jars of pesto
45 eggs
7 bags of broccoli
6 packages of spinach
4 huge bags of potatoes
and
1 single orange,

I am not yet nuts. I must accidentally have hit the wrong keys.
Now what should I do with all these potatoes, eggs and spinach?

My family and friends mocked me to no end.

ps. almost can't close the freezer door because of all the broccoli.

Agreed.

How to be a woman

So yesterday, I had plans on going to see/listen to Caitlin Moran talk about her book. But life came in between. Yesterday's being a woman prevented me from learning more about How to be a woman.

Instead, I went to work.

Ran.

Helped daughter with homework and tried to refrain from telling her that most grown-ups simply refer to their built in calculators in their phones and who knows about the future, will there be math? Will there even be math in the aftermath? Succeeded in refraining. Realized I really really suck at math. She's already better than me and she's not even 11.

Worked some more.  Talked to Anders. Saw parts of a tv-show focusing on the films Ingmar Bergman supposedly watched (surprise alert: Crocodile Dundee).

Fell asleep.

So much for the glitzy life this week, which is STOCKHOLM FASHION WEEK.

I am fashion. Only I know this.

This is for you. Trying to look pretty and posting pretty pics on your blog is so 2005. We've moved on, people. Say we've moved on.

Also:
Do you find it tricky to comment on this blog? If it really is tricky, then you might not even be able to tell me!

I'll try to change the settings, but have recently been told by people I*VE MET IN THE FLESH that commenting is sometimes tricky/impossible here.

Don't...

Don't make white russians with frozen raspberries instead of ice cubes.
I'm not saying this because you'd regret trying such a drink.
I'm saying it because it might be hard to stop drinking such drinks.

Take it from meeeeeeeeee.

I HATE GEOGRAPHY

If I wasn't living in this part of the world, I'd be able to see Celeste and Jesse today.

CHRISTMAS ALL YEAR ROUND!

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH

seriously

I love these Nikes of my own design, in the color scheme favored by ancient Egyptians. One day, these will be mine.  King Tut's not my fave ancient Egyptian ruler (looking at you, the king herself, Hatshepsut) but they only allowed 4 letters on each shoe, so King Tut it is.

Angel falling from the sky

So this morning I took the bus and saw this huge oil cistern, seemingly stepped on by a giant/titan/God.
I couldn't stop looking or stop taking pics.

Wasn't until I flipped through the pics later on that I noticed I'd captured a falling angel in the process.

4 years old

Doing her best to look taller.

NON-SWEDISH READERS! Go running with with these songs,
selected by Ison, pictured above with his mom Linda.

PUSSY RIOT!

The insanity of you having to serve two years in prison.
This looks like a museum display. If only it was.
Also hoping the two year sentence will result in riots all over.
And that two years in Russian prison will be less grim than it sounds.

Self-employed

Ok, here's a regular day for me.
First, wake everyone up. Niki...she doesn't like mornings. She's seen here with her dress just over her shoulders as she refuses to put it on. She's listening to her favorite songs. She bosses us around and screams at everybody to shut up. Anders is seen here negotiating a breakfast deal with a person  he and I sometimes mumbling refer to as "the dictator".

After breakfast, took Joel to a check-up. And filled up on gas. This is not regular stuff for me, but I'm working on it.

At the gas station, you could choose between different car air fresheners.

Options varied from "new car", "paradise" to more tangible fragrances such as "green apples". Fantasized about rubbing these weird creatures against my neck to use them like perfume. Am I the "new car"-fragrance type?

Then parked and took the subway to work. My son and mother took the same subway but decided to go check out baby alligators instead. They don't have to go work. Mom and Joel neither.

On my way to meeting, stopped by Lima to buy lunch.

They had really nice tea bags.

Had the day's first meeting, with Mattias and Samira. We're talking about Hall of Femmes.

I love Samira's tattoo.

Maina works in the same office. It was great to see her and her bird necklace.
Then tried on some expensive stuff at ACNE.

I'm thinking the baked potato look isn't too bad for fall.

ACNE decorate with hair.

Walked to my next meeting.

There are still a few smokers in Sweden. But they're almost extinct.

At the meeting, they all wanted a piece of me. Perhaps they wanted to sell my hair to ACNE?

These people are a pleasure to work with.

After meeting - back to my own office to work.

Time for third meeting  - with Karin.

Subway home.

Picked up rascals.

Walked them home...

But stopped for play at playground.

Cooked and served dinner.

Encouraged home gymnastics initiative.

Went for a run to return DVDs.

And pick up book parcel,

Meanwhile, Anders had prepared dinner for me.

Runners' reward with what we Europeans refer to as an "American smile" .

Runners' reward with what we Europeans refer to as a "European smile" .

Big kids liked contents of book parcel.
As did the littlest one.

Laundry. Then lost phone somewhere so couldn't document
rest of evening which included sorting and folding laundry
and watching that new Soorkin show where everyone talked like noone I know.

Employed?

Are you employed? Do you go to work?
What's your workday like?
I'll serve up a regular day for me on Thursday or Friday, have not yet decided which one of the two should be an irregular day yet.

That's me up there during a regular workday, working from a cafe right next to my office cause I really needed a change of scenery.

I've been so stressed lately, a feeling I haven't had since I quit my day job back in the 90's. To fight it, I have to drink decaf, which feels undignified but wise. Also run as part of stress management which seems to be working really well. I run with Frank Ocean. He calms me down. When he sings Lost, I feel we're in it together.

Please tell me, Even if it's just "I work in a bank" or "I hate my job".
