Life recently

For us short people, this sounds so luxurious

only want to travel in vehicles designed for basketball players from now on

And, as the roomiest coach traveling to the East End, it offers the ultimate in comfort and convenience, such as extra-wide plush seats, extended legroom (it was designed for basketball players), spacious overhead and underneath storage compartments plus individual electric power outlets.  In addition to rapid boarding, a courteous on-board attendant provides a wide variety of complimentary refreshments, snacks and reading material on every trip.

I love Camilla Engströms art

Vodka, ferris wheels and childrens' books

I rarely talk about work here. But I LOVE MY JOB.

I thought I'd be a graphic designer. Turned out that wasn't really my thing at all. Though very interested in design, I'd much rather write. So I became a copywriter, writer and translator instead.

My words have been printed on hundreds of thousands of vodka bottles. No one tells you in elementary school, that spelling might one day be important because of vodka. Vodka and spelling are rarely mentioned together in a positive way. I feel perhaps I can make a difference here!

And every day, people who use the WiFi at Starbucks are questioned in important little polls.

(The statement preceding these results was "I love ferris wheels" / "I love ferries"):

I LOVE copywriting, so much fun, but am also fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing childrens' books. So happy this will be out in Sweden this August. It has the best pics by Loka Kanarp.

So childrens' books, ferris wheel polls and vodka. That's how I make a living. How about you?

ps. So next time you're in a starbucks and enjoy the free wifi - take the daily poll. You know who's really asking you!

You can never hide from the NYT

The NYT personalized recommendations for me: all obits and upsetting news about Maus being removed from Russian bookstores because yes, it features swastikas.

Saw a seeing dog wearing a sign today

Saw a seeing dog wearing a sign today stating "Don't pet me, I'm working".

That was then

Me and my brother a while ago.

The Style Project continued

Been wearing boots a whole lot more.
They hurt and limit my mobility.
But they look good.

What I've seen lately

It's not set in stone. Oh wait a second

I love this, warts and all. Can you read the text?

It says:

Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi
A legendary Turkish aviator who had achieved to flew with a glider made of feathers from Europe to Asia (over the Bosphoros/Istanbul) in 1632.

New favorite workplace

Poets' house!
Hoping all the magic of poetry will just seep into my pores like some kind of literary osmosis.

Ps. Åsa det här är nära dig va? Ses gärna här! Eller på ställe där man kan prata också!

New pics

Joel is so happy at his new school.
This is the playground.
This is Joel and his friend Wylie.
And yes, they have matching Vans.

Today's confessions

1. I can't tell the Duggars apart. They all look the same and all seem to be pregnant always. I know it's not a big deal but if there's one thing I've always mastered it's pop culture and if it's in People, it counts to me as pop culture. Am I going senile prematurely? Am worried.

Can easily tell Kardashian family members apart, even Kylie from Kylie after those new full lips.

2. I feel I've been on a failed diet since I was 14. Not always trying to lose weight, just constantly knowing I ate the wrong thing somehow.

3. Suddenly feel I have no thoughts, ideas or experiences. Should I really be doing work as a writer? If not, what are my alternatives? Who would hire me now and here?

4. Contemplating taking up running again.

Good family movie

Not sure about you, but at our house it often takes as long time agreeing on a movie as it does actually watching it. But the other day we settled for this and all five of us were happy with the choice.

The Style Project

Have been dressing decidedly more feminine  - heels, dress and makeup.
The world treats me differently for sure.

not sure it's worth it though, ease of movement has always key for me.

thought this poll funny in the aftermath of feminine style guru Eva Mendes' joke about sweatpants being number one cause of divorce in the US.

SWEATPANTS IS LIFE.

Plains indians -Artists of the earth and sky

Pipe Bowl Illustrating Pawnee Myth

Went to see this exhibition and it was beautiful. Was overcome with intense grief, had to walk out. Some of the stories and accounts - so sad, so horrible, so unfair.

Oh the magnificence of urban civilization

Took the Roosevelt Island cable car the other day.
It impressed me with its views.

takes a bit off the pressure off. and then adds some other

So we moved

Now we just stay in the apartment and stare. Will post pics of view in other direction later.
LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH.

ps. yes those pics are from our living room - just using the iphone.

I love this state motto

Montani semper liberi - Mountaineers are always free.

Did you know this? trivia.

In Sweden, these two are not known as Laurel & Hardy but as Helan & Halvan - The whole & the half.

Why, Maryland?

Did you know Maryland's motto is the somewhat weird
Fatti maschii, parole femine
Manly deeds, womanly words
I don't understand it but I almost like it.
Would also be interested in the opposite - Womanly deeds, manly words.
