Lending your favorite books out to friends

Do you ask for them back? Or just buy a new one?

  1. I would ask if they have had a chance to read it yet. They should then get the hint that it is time to get the book back to you. Notice I said "should".

  2. I usually ask for them back, after a good while. But if I REALLY know the book would fit them and they will love it, I will just give it to them and buy another.

  3. I just mourn them (the books) and silently judge them :) (the people)

Still waiting to get my "the secret history" back...

  5. I usually just feel bad about it. I bought another copy of a book I lent in college (early 1980s)about 5 years ago. Now thinking about getting another copy of Jared Diamond's Collapse, a book I loved and lent a few years ago.
