Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. Or anything by PG Wodehouse.
Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. I don't know if it's still in print, though, since it was printed in the 50s or early 60s. I think. It was one of my mother's favorites.
Humorous mysteries: What's a Girl Gotta Do? by the improbably named Sparkle Hayter, and Thus Was Adonis Murdered, by Sarah Caudwell. Each is the first book in short series (4 or 5) titles. I love both series. Bill Bryson is occasionally laugh out loud funny, and always good company.
