Writing children's books has been a lifelong dream for me, now it's happening.
Eagerly asked my editor at what point you can really get away with calling yourself an author.
She replied "Some people call themselves authors halfway through their first draft, long before anyone else has even seen, read or expressed interest in it. Others publish 20 novels and still don't feel comfortable with the term. Most people though, seem to get into it all by their third book. It's often said that anyone has one book to write but it takes a dedicated writer to keep making things up and making them come together."
I don't know yet what it will be for me, but I do have something now that I've never had before : The author portrait:
