In the end, the shopgirl even told me "There's nothing wrong with your body. You're completely normal." The sad thing is that someone tells you that, you immediately start to think the opposite. But they're not getting me, my body image is just fine after all the running.

Then, like a fool, I returned a few days later and bought these "Tulip" pants. When I wear them, I feel lke I'm an important art gallerist in, say, Basel or Zürich. But is that enough? Should I keep them? Yes or no? Help.

yes! wear them with flats and a plain sweater and a giant scarf and lots of jewellery and then you can just go for coffee. no art necessary. but lots and lots of chic.
yes, definitely with flats and a scarf! they are gorgeous on you!
here's the question: do you want to be an important Swiss gallerist? i'm not so sure. not into the pants.
good point jenny! still can't decide though. but thanks for the honesty!
There are things to consider like what is the fiber content and do they have a sheen? When you sit down do the tapered bottoms creep up your leg so that every time you stand up you have to tug them down? Creeping and shining would make them a no.
But I can see them being a little Audrey Hepburn with a fitted twin set and your hair up. Or even Katherine Hepburn with a white button down and a long jacket with your hair down. Both in a very good way. But the flats are a must. Ballet flats for Audrey, driving mocs for Kate.
Supernice, especially on the much better than normal body of yours! I wish I could get away with wearing pants that adds width, and still look as fragile as a tulip. Keep!

sorry folks, but no flats would work with these pants.I would look like a gnome.
i LOVE the pants, but flats would be no good. i love that you're long and lean enough to wear something other than the traditional trouser, and the heels are perfect!
They're either too long or too short, can't quite decide. If anyone can wear them though, it's you. Higher heels though. (Like I should talk, just bought a pair of 4 inch heels that I'm not sure I can walk in).
Sorry no.
I would go for slim fit bc you have killer legs!
I love the passionate response to these pants! They're the pants to divide a nation! No! YES! FLATS! HEELS!
Considering I'm every woman, no wonder I have trouble making up my mind.
You look beautiful but take them back! You already feel flaky in them :)
well... I am with the group saying "no"
wow the help I'm getting! I'm going to start asking you in the morning when I get dressed - yes or no!
Run, don't walk, back to the store with those pants. They don't do you justice!
I say yes. You look fabulous. I'm 5 months pregnant and starting to lose my shape. Slightly envious. Keep them!!
they went back to the store. thanks for the help! honeybee, such great news! love

Keep em!
I ordered a pair online not long ago, but they were too big. Trust me, nothing looks as bad on you as loose pair of tulip pants.
It's tragic, really.
As a man, and I refuse to divulge how I came to your site, who appreciates a well shaped ass. I say keep the pants. The picture caught my attention immediately and inspired me to vote my approval!
