as a redhead, i THINK YOU TOTALLY SHOULD!
I ended up red once. Not by any sort of plan. It was one of those things where she was massaging my head under warm water and i was powerless to say no.
It was fun. But I recommend a temporary color that washes out slowly over several weeks to see how you like it before the full "I promise myself I will maintain my roots" commitment.
Also...Auburn with your coloring and eyes.
Do! I've been red for a year, a haircolour record for me.
You'd be a fab redhead.
